I bought the first printer (a Creality Ender 3) from MicroCenter just after my birthday, but it was pretty basic. Mike and I installed a new control board and a color touch screen, along with a bed-level sensor.
Mike has been much more excited about this than I’ve been (for example learning Fusion 360 so he can make his own models), so at Christmas I gave him the Ender 3 and bought a Creality CR-X to replace it.
The CR-X has a bigger print volume (300x300x400mm- about 12 x 12 by almost 16 inches), and dual extruders (two filament feeders, but only one hot end), and already had the level sensor and 32 bit controller board. With the upgrades, the Ender-3 works just about as well, but this took a lot less effort. 🙂
Below are just a few of the things we’ve printed (that I happened to take pictures of!)
